Rodrigo López emigrated from Mexico to the United States in 1962 and ventured into the restaurant industry with hopes to improve his family’s way of life.
With no experience in opening a business, he opened López Mexican Restaurant believing that a lot of faith and determination would make his dream a success.Since opening in 1978, Rodrigo López, his wife Bertha, sons Jonathan, Jose, and daughter Ana have kept their promise that every day, and for generations to come, the restaurant will focus on service, value, and cleanliness to ensure that guests always leave satisfied.True to their promise, the López family forged 2 new additions to continue on in their missions to deliver excellent service and bring value to their customer's dining experience. They said farewell to their beloved banquet hall to make space for a new Curbside To-Go area. Customers can now pick up their orders without getting out of their car. On Saturday 2018, López celebrated their 40th anniversary and the grand opening of their second restaurant at 7227 West Grand Parkway South in Richmond, Texas.
